The World's First International E-Passport and Border Control Fair at the Stockholm World Trade Centre, SWEDEN in January 26-27, 2005
Smarticware has taken the initiative and has been hosting The World's First International E-Passport and Border Control Fair at the Stockholm World Trade Centre, SWEDEN in January 26-27, 2005.
Smarticware AB has, as participant of the ICAO/WG3 group as well as Project Manager of the EU Digital Passport Project, at a short notice, succeeded in hosting the fair that was aimed directly at decision makers all over the world. More than 500 official representatives from more than 34 countries and a huge number of related market players attended the Fair.
The 23 Exhibitors ranged from total providers to semiconductor producers, governmental agencies, security print houses, biometrics developers, card vendors and providers of readers, software, access control and photo systems.
The Swedish Board of Police, with assistance of the EU Digital Passport Project and the chosen suppliers performed a presentation of the recently decided Swedish e-passport solution and had also arranged a showroom including real ePassports and border control.
Besides the exhibition Smarticware had also arranged an one day seminar around Digital Passports and Border Control. The seminar was much frequented with about 60-80 persons in average on each presentation which also indicates the great need of information in this area.
